Chrysiptera talboti - Talbot's Demoiselle
Maximum Length
2.4 in. (6.0 cm)
Minimum Aquarium Size
10 gal. (38 L)
Range
Indo-west Pacific.
Habitat
Reef. The more hiding places the better! It will enable this little fish to hide from potential threats and feel more secure.
Foods and Feeding
Feed meaty and vegetable foods at least once a day (may be able to feed less often if enough algae is present in the tank). Color-enhancing foods can help it maintain its bright colors.
Captive Care
Talbot’s Demoiselle is not a threat to most tankmates as it tends to have a congenial disposition. It rarely bothers non-related tankmates and is more likely to be the recipient of aggression. More than one can be housed per tank. To increase the likelihood of success, add only small individuals or add one large fish and one or more smaller C. talboti. Pickering between group members is more likely to become a problem in a smaller tank. This is a wonderful choice for the reef aquarium.
This species is a good display fish because it spends much of its time dashing about in the water column. It will also ingest algae and small, benthic crustaceans off the aquarium substrate.
